Projects
Terrasos has developed a comprehensive portfolio of environmental compensation alternatives for the energy sector. Through rigorous technical, legal, and financial analyses, we have identified over 300 options across 12 departments. Using an innovative decision tree, we select the most efficient and cost-effective compensation mechanisms for each project. This work, supported by field research and dialogue with key stakeholders, ensures the sustainability and feasibility of the compensation strategies.

Identification of Scenarios and Mechanisms for the Compensation of 23,000 Hectares
In 2018, Terrasos participated in identifying scenarios and mechanisms for the compensation of approximately 23,000 hectares in collaboration with one of the most significant companies in the mining sector, both nationally and internationally. This exercise focused on exploring various variables to facilitate the implementation of environmental compensations in different contexts, such as:
• Compensation through the acquisition of land.
• Compensation on land owned by the company.
• Compensation on land inhabited by communities.
• Compensation on land dedicated to livelihood activities.
• Compensation on land used for agricultural and/or livestock activities.
We evaluated multiple scenarios, ranging from land acquisition to restoration in areas with local communities, considering technical, legal, financial, and social aspects. Our comprehensive approach ensures sustainability and permanence in fulfilling environmental obligations.
